Theme Templates
Theme templates give you a professionally designed starting point. Choose a template and then customize it to match your brand.
Available templates
Section titled “Available templates”Slate includes two categories of pre-built templates:
Subtle templates
Section titled “Subtle templates”Clean, minimal designs that work for most courses:

Bold templates
Section titled “Bold templates”Dramatic designs with custom CSS for more visual impact:

Bold templates include custom CSS that applies gradient backgrounds, refined typography, and other advanced styling.
Applying a template
Section titled “Applying a template”- Open the theme editor for your course
- Go to the Templates section
- Click a template to apply it instantly
Applying a template updates your primary color, hover color, outline color, border radius, and spacing. Bold templates also apply custom CSS.
The active template shows a checkmark to indicate which template matches your current settings.
Click the Remix button to apply a randomly selected theme from a pool of additional color schemes. This is a quick way to explore different looks and find inspiration.
Customizing after applying
Section titled “Customizing after applying”Templates are a starting point. After applying a template, you can adjust any setting in the Colors, Fonts, or Layout sections. Your customizations override the template values.
Reusing themes across courses
Section titled “Reusing themes across courses”To apply the same theme to multiple courses:
- Save as Default Theme - your current settings become the default for all new courses
- Export/Import - download your theme as a JSON file and import it into another course
