Video Block
The Video block lets you embed videos from multiple providers or upload your own video files directly into lessons.
Supported providers

Video uploads require a Pro plan. Uploaded videos support MP4 and WebM formats, up to 250 MB.
Adding a video
Section titled “Adding a video”- Add a Video block to your lesson
- Select the video source from the provider dropdown
- Paste the video URL or upload a file
The default provider is YouTube. Slate automatically detects the video ID from the URL and generates the correct embed.
Captions
Section titled “Captions”Add an optional text caption that displays below the video.
Subtitles
Section titled “Subtitles”For uploaded videos, you can add subtitle files in SRT or VTT format (up to 1 MB). SRT files are automatically converted to VTT. Subtitles are only available for uploaded videos. For embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.), manage subtitles at the source platform.
Video in exports
Section titled “Video in exports”- Uploaded videos are included in the export package and play offline
- Embedded videos require an internet connection to play in the exported course
