Embed Block
The Embed block lets you embed external websites and interactive content directly within your lessons using an iframe.
Adding an embed
Section titled “Adding an embed”Paste a full iframe embed code or a URL into the embed field. Slate automatically extracts the source URL, dimensions, and title from embed codes.
Aspect ratio
Section titled “Aspect ratio”Choose an aspect ratio preset to control how the embed is displayed:
| Preset | Best for |
|---|---|
| 16:9 | Video content |
| 4:3 | Presentations |
| 1:1 | Square widgets |
| Custom | Set a specific height in pixels (default: 400px) |
Slate auto-detects the appropriate aspect ratio for known providers.
Fullscreen
Section titled “Fullscreen”Fullscreen is enabled by default, allowing learners to expand the embed to fill their screen (if the embedded content supports it). You can disable this in the block settings.
Recognized providers
Section titled “Recognized providers”Slate automatically detects and optimizes embeds from:
- YouTube and Vimeo
- Google Docs and Google Drive
- Miro
- H5P
- Canva
- Genially
- Padlet
Other URLs work as standard iframe embeds.
