AI Image Generation
AI Image Generation creates custom visuals for your courses directly within the Slate editor. Describe what you need, and Slate generates an image you can use in any Image block.
Generating an image
Section titled “Generating an image”- Add or select an Image block in your lesson
- Choose Generate with AI from the image source options
- Enter a text description of the image you want
- Select an aspect ratio
- Generate the image
The generated image is added to the block and saved to your media library for reuse.
Aspect ratios
Section titled “Aspect ratios”Slate supports 7 aspect ratios for generated images:
| Ratio | Best for |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Square graphics, icons, profile images |
| 16:9 | Widescreen, hero images, presentations |
| 9:16 | Vertical, mobile-oriented content |
| 4:3 | Standard content images |
| 3:4 | Portrait orientation |
| 3:2 | Photography-style images |
| 2:3 | Tall portrait images |
Choose the ratio that best fits your layout before generating.
Writing effective prompts
Section titled “Writing effective prompts”The quality of the generated image depends on your description. Be specific about:
- Subject - what should be in the image
- Style - illustration, photograph, diagram, flat design, etc.
- Context - where the subject is, what’s happening
- Mood - professional, friendly, technical, etc.
For example, “a diverse group of professionals collaborating around a whiteboard in a modern office, flat illustration style” produces better results than “people working.”
Credits
Section titled “Credits”Each image generation costs 250 AI credits. Credits are deducted when the image is generated. If the result isn’t what you need, you can regenerate with a revised prompt (each generation costs credits).
